It’s getting tight at the top as Harry Robinson’s (4.6m) lead has been cut to just 222 as Daryl Woodford (7.3m) stormed into second place in the league standings. The charge is on.
It was a good week for 3 of our teams with wins for the 1XI, 2XI and 4XI. The 3XI came up against the runaway leaders but were still able to put up a spirited and determined display. With the trials and tribulations of the previous week it was great to see our players let their cricket do the talking.
The 1XI picked up maximum points at home to West Essex. Biggest fantasy points scorers coming from Adam Knight (6.9m) with 83 and Matt Higgins (5.8m) with 60 but it was an all-round team performance with everyone contributing.
The 2XI are currently in an inspired run of form as they chalked up a third straight victory with Daryl Woodford leading by example as he took another five wickets to earn 208 points. I hope you listened to my cryptic advice on Friday. The skipper was backed up with Rama Bashamoni (5.1m) scoring 139 points and Michael Gray (4.4m) picking up 118. Some great value for your money there.
The 3XI, despite coming second, still put up some good performances and returns. George Church (3.5m) – 62 points, Louis Hales (3.9m) – 62 points, Luke Tyrrell (3.9m) - 60 points and Ash Downes (4.1m) with 50 points.
The 4XI had a great victory against Chelmsford with the star of the show being Geoff Lake (6m) who scored an unbeaten ton, carrying his bat through. His heroics earned an incredible 220 to be the club’s top points scorer for the week. Connor Filsell (4m) with 50 points and Jono Edwards (4.5m) with 49 points provided valuable support to get the team over the line.
In terms of the fantasy league, Joe Robertson picked up the manager of the week with a massive 786 points.
So, its all hotting up, can you hold your nerve and get your picks right. As I keep saying if you get that captains pick right it can propel you up the table. If you still have your triple captain pick available don’t forget to use it.
