Founded in 1887, Stanford-le-Hope Cricket Club is one of south Essex’s most historic and community-minded clubs - proudly based at The Recreation Ground for over a century.
With five senior teams, a thriving junior section, and a growing network of supporters and volunteers, SLHCC offers cricket for all ages and abilities. Whether you’re playing, coaching, helping, or cheering from the sidelines, there’s a place for everyone here.
Our 2025 centenary celebrations marked 100 years of cricket at “The Rec”, a milestone that reflected everything our club stands for - tradition, teamwork, and togetherness. As we look ahead, we’re committed to building on that legacy through strong community links, local sponsorship, and continual development on and off the field.

A Club Moving Forward
Stanford-le-Hope Cricket Club continues to make great strides off the field. Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, the generosity of our sponsors, and the support of our local community, we’ve strengthened the foundations of the club and created real momentum for the future.
Recent seasons have seen investment in facilities, new equipment such as a BOLA Bowling Machine, and improved match-day infrastructure - all helping to create a better experience for players, members, and visitors alike.
Alongside that, our fundraising and sponsorship programmes have continued to grow, providing vital support to ensure the club remains sustainable for years to come.
