Fantasy Cricket Scouting Report - Week 13

02 Aug 2024

We’re at week 13 already, can you believe it, let’s hope for a little less drama than week 12, I’m still catching up on the WhatsApp messages! Anyhow teams are out, and selection is good in so far as we have four teams out. So, settle down, here we go.
The 1XI have have had an interesting week and are forced into making one change from the team that won last week in dramatic fashion. Matt Lewis (6m) coming in for Kalum Sampath (5.8m). It’s a cricketing six pointer as the team host fellow promotion hopefuls West Essex.
The 2XI make the short trip to Benfleet for a crunch match but are pleased to welcome back in form batter Rama Bashamoni (5.1m). The team are looking for a third win on the spin so keep an eye on this one and if you’re thinking of transferring out a player, my advice would be to stick with them for at least another week.
Adam Pickett (5.6m) takes the captains role in the 3XI as they travel to Shoebury Park and a clash against league leaders Old Southendians. Freddie Robinson (4.6m) is back after a short stint in the 4’s and he will spearhead the bowling attack alongside James McCartney (3.6m), Ash Downes (4.1m) and Louis Hales (3.9m). Bobby Kenyon (3.6m) is back behind the stumps.
With the skipper away Joe McCarthy (3.5m) leads the team in a home match against Chelmsford. Joe will be looking for some assistance and guidance from the wise heads of Geoff Gullet (4.1m), Geoff Lake (6m) and the wicket keeper Jono Edwards (4.5m). There is a couple of debutants in the team, so the best of luck to them.
That’s it, a short one this week, good luck to all players, enjoy your cricket and please behave. I’ll see you in the Clubhouse tomorrow.
