So, that was an interesting weekend, plenty of drama, controversy and no shortage of excitement so where oh where do I begin?
Well, obviously, it has to be at The RJ Memorial Ground as the 1XI picked up maximum points against Hornchurch Aff. Tom Willats (6.7m) with a quickfire fifty got the innings off to a great start and earned himself 105 points. In the 2nd innings Adam Knight (6.8m) took fourfer to nab 70 points and a special mention goes to Jack Carter (5.6m) who with the aid of a spectacular run out (cheeky wink!) earned 43 points for himself and 25 for the team.
The 2XI had another great win and were thankful for a magnificent bowling spell from Daryl Woodford (7m) who took six of the best to grab an incredible 206 points. Daryl was superbly backed up by Rohit Duhan (7.4m) with 32 runs and 3 wickets to score 87.
The 3XI couldn’t get past Old Brentwoods with only Vinay Kumar (5.1m) with 58 points, Ian Rudder (4.5m) with 28 and Dan Copp (4.7m) with 25 points, scoring good totals.
The 4XI played out a draw with Billericay with the young guns taking lead roles again. Freddie Robinson (4.6m) scored 64 points and Jordan Pickett (2.9m) helping himself to 45 points.
In the league places, the chase to catch Harry Robinson (4.6m) is hotting up as his lead at the top has been cut to 340 points. If you had Daryl or Tom in your team and either of them as captain, then you had a good week. If you triple captained one of them as at least one person did, you’ve had a fabulous week. The manager of the week and also for the month of July was Matt Higgins (5.9m) with a massive weekly score of 853 points giving him a monthly total of 1,775. Again, I remind you that there are no prizes for manager of the week/month, just knowing you are better then anyone else should suffice, sorry Matt!
