Fantasy Cricket Scouting Report - Week 7

21 Jun 2024

Week 7 teams are out, and normal selection service has resumed, almost. Availability is better than it has been for a few weeks, so for the second time this season we have a 5XI in action as they take on Orsett 8XI. Be reminded that as this is a friendly no fantasy points will be scored.
The 1XI play host to Harlow and welcome back big hitters Jack Scutt (6m) and Mathew Lewis (6m). Ralf Fernando (7.4m) is also a welcome returnee who will be on his best behaviour as he looks to get back amongst the wickets.
The 2XI make the long trip to Colchester & East Essex looking to record their first “double” of the season. Skipper Dave De Jong (5m) calls up Mike Rake (5.5m) to take the gloves as well as the in-form Andy Freeman (4.5m). Look for a bounce back here.
The 3XI travel to Canvey for a local derby with Horndon. Having lost Freemo to the two’s, captain Ian Rudder (4.5m) selects impressive left armer James McCartney (3.6m) to spearhead his bowling attack alongside the equally impressive bowling of Zak O’Keefe (4.5m) and George Church (3.5m). I’m expecting the young guns to have further success.
The 4XI host league leaders Hornchurch in what will be a tough match. Skipper Dan Copp (4.6m) returns to the team and has available the wise old heads or maybe just old heads of Dave Willats (4.5m) and Geoff Gullet (4m). Those two raise the average age of the team from 20 to 45! Again, look to the youngsters of Sam Stannard (4m), Ashley Roope (4m) and Emma Poskitt (3m) for some value for money points.
With the weather set fair it’s looking like a cracking weekend for cricket. Don’t forget that all important captain pick and get any transfers completed and over the line by 11am on Saturday.
To assist with your managerial decisions please see below the leagues latest MVP ratings. Will it help or hinder, it’s now over to you. I know where my transfers are going this weekend.
Good luck to all managers and even more so to all players.
Enjoy your cricket this weekend.
