Apologies it’s a bit late – it’s been one of those weeks.
In a rain affected weekend every team managed to complete their games with wins for the 1XI, 3XI and 4XI. The 1XI won off the last ball of the game with Rob Page (6.2m) taking a match winning 6-17 and, in the process, scoring a mammoth 257 points.
The 2XI came second to Fives and Heronians but playing two teams was always going to be difficult (sorry, I’ll get my coat!). Daryl Woodford (6.8m) with 49 points and Freddie Hales (6.2m) with 36 points were the teams biggest fantasy points scorers.
The 3XI were comfortable winners against Belhus with Andy Freeman (4.5m) scoring 194 points with his 5-23 and Zak O’Keefe (4.5m) playing the supporting role with 4-29 and 103 points.
The 4XI won an absolute nailbiter against Wickford by 2 runs thanks largely to Adam Pickett (5.5m) with 78 runs and 138 points.
In the fantasy league Duncan Page (5.5m) won his second manager of the week award scoring a whopping 821 points. It certainly helps when you have your son as captain! In all, 5 managers had Rob as captain scoring 514 points. I’ve said it before, getting your captain right turns a good week into a great week.
In the league standings, Harry Robinson (4.5m) returns to the top of the pile with another great score of 782 points. He is now 360 points clear of second place Adam Knight (6.6m). Still, as the old saying goes it’s a marathon not a snickers sprint (if you know you know!) Still another 12 weeks for your captains to come good.
Ok, that’s it for now, teams are out and selection is better this week. Week 7 scouting report to follow, hopefully….
