After the sad news of the passing of Bob, I wanted to share some stats from his 54 years as a player, and a Honorary Life Member of our club. Bob’s first game was in 1970, playing as an all-rounder for twenty-two years. His Career Record was as follows: -

Highest Score: 107 v Claybury Park at Stanford Rec. on the 14th July 1979. SLHCC first league matches were in 1979 and Bob scored the first century by a Stanford player in a Saturday League match. SLHCC won the match by 54 runs.

Best Bowling: 8-39 v Britannic Lodge at Stanford Rec. on the 4th August 1979. Stanford lost by 40 runs.
1979 was one of Bob’s finest seasons. I am sure there are not many of our players who have scored a century and taken 8 wickets in a match during one season.
Club Chairman: 1983 - 1997
Centenary Chairman: 1986 - 1987
Team Captain: 2nd XI Captain 1974 - 1976 and Vice-Captain 1979 - 1982.
