Fantasy Cricket Scouting Report - Week 3

24 May 2024

Week 3 teams are now out and there are new selection dilemmas for all fantasy league managers. No games have been cancelled (just yet - fingers crossed!) but some popular picks are not available this weekend.
The 1XI, following their fine victory away to Wickford last time out are without top order batters in Thomas Willats (owned by 72%) and Lee Knight (owned by 28%). They are replaced by Michael Edwards (5.5m) and Matt Lewis (6m). Will you transfer them in? Important decisions ahead.
As predicted in this column last week, the 2XI bounced back and scored many more points for their managers. Freddie Hales (6m) leading the way with his brilliant 5fer. For this weekend Jono Edwards (4.5m) takes the gloves behind the stumps and there is a welcome return to the team for Louis Hales (4m). Rama Bashamoni (5m) steps up from the 3XI, can he continue his fine form. Big decisions to be made.
The 3XI will be looking to bounce back from last week’s match and captain Ian Rudder (4.5m) has called up Mathew Church (3.5m), George Church (3.5m) and Marc Lewis (5.5m). They are at home to Old Southendian 3XI who have won both their opening two games, so expect a tough match, with our boys, hopefully, just edging it. Any names catching your eye here? Are they in your thinking? Massive decisions to be made for all managers.
The 4XI didn’t get out on the pitch last weekend so skipper Dan Copp (4.6m) stays loyal to the same team that was selected for that game. The rest is a cut and paste from last week!
“The 4’s recall a couple of players to the fold in Connor Filsell (4m) and Dave Willats (4.5m) with the latter playing his first match since August 2022. Who’s brave enough to bring him or Connor in? Or did the young guard of Bobby Kenyon (3.5m), Jordan Pickett (3m) and James McCartney (3.5m) impress you enough last week. Tough decisions!”
There is a 5th team game this weekend, but this does not count towards the fantasy league so be warned!
To assist with your managerial decisions please see below the leagues latest MVP ratings. Will it help or hinder, its now over to you, deadline is 11am on Saturday.
Good luck to all managers and even more so to all players.
Enjoy your cricket this weekend.
