A frustrating weekend for many fantasy league managers as shortly after the teams were announced on Friday, the 4XI game was cancelled. A number of 4’s players feature heavily across teams, so decisions had to be made, did you stick, twist or take the hit with additional transfers?
One manager who didn’t panic, was Freddie Hales (6m) who backed himself in his own team and with a brilliant 5-17 he earned a massive 180 points. With Rob Page (6m) also earning 142 points, Freddie’s team “Silly Sloggers” take over at the top of the league with a total of 1,213 points.
Manager of the week goes to Duncan Page (5.5m) who racked up 597 points, an incredible return considering three of his team did not play. Duncan moved up 15 places in the league showing the effect a good week scoring can have.
Notable mentions this week as well as Freddie and Rob go out to Lee Knight (6.4m) with 107 points following a fine half century for the 1XI; Dave De Jong (5m) with 55 points after guiding his team to victory along with vice skipper Michael Gray (4.4m) with 43 points; Daryl Woodford (6.5m) with 50 points after a magnificent bowling spell of 3-8 against Colchester and East Essex 2XI; Adam Knight (6.5m) with 60 points following his 4-28 against Wickford 1XI and Rama Bashamoni (5m) scoring 49 points with another 30+ score.
