Fantasy Cricket League Update - Week 15

21 Aug 2024

Another weekend has flown by, and we are well and truly into the business end of the season. Harry Robinson (4.6m) has had his lead cut again this week, with manager of the week Adam Knight (£7m) hot on his heels. Adam played a very smart wildcard to earn himself 762 points and leave himself just 17 points from the summit.
The 1XI suffered only their third defeat of the season, away to Harlow. Thomas Willats (£6.8m) scored his fourth half century of the season to earn 113 points. Jack Scutt (£6.1m) scored his maiden 1st XI half century for 126 points.
The 2XI were also beaten this weekend, by Fives & Heronians, but there were plenty of points to be claimed. Mohit Bhagwani (£7m) smoked 7 sixes on his way to 68 runs, earning 138 points. Fantasy player of the week Rama Bashamoni (£5.3m) scored 162 points after making 57 with the bat and two wickets with the ball.
The 3XI picked up a crucial victory over Horndon on the Hill to solidify their league position. The standout fantasy player from this fixture was Deepak Kumar (£4.2m)who made an unbeaten fifty for 120 points. Marc Lewis (£5.8m) and Andy Freeman (£4.8m) also scored well picking up 86 and 72 points respectively.
The 4XI were beaten by a strong Billericay side on Saturday, captain Joe McCarthy (£3.5m) was the top scorer from a fantasy perspective with 33 points. Emma Poskitt (£3m) took two wickets to earn 20 points.
With just three weeks left of the season, it is all to play for. I have heard a rumour that selection is challenging for the captains this week, so it is more important than ever to make the right transfers and maximise the points from your captain (or triple captain if you still have it!).
As always, team news will be here at 11am on Friday, see you then!
