Fantasy Cricket League Update - Week 5

11 Jun 2024

It was not the best of days on the field for the four SLHCC teams last weekend, as only the 3XI managed a win to pick up maximum points when they beat Epping CC by 4 wickets at The Rec.

The standout player of the week was Daryl Woodford (6.5m) who scored a massive 214 points with a brilliant 6-45 with the ball, 1 catch and 14 runs. A great all round performance.

Notable mentions this week go to Jack Cable (5.9m) with 74 points, Jack Carter (5.5m) – 72 points, Scott Poskitt (4m) – 64 points, Joe Robertson (5m) – 63 points, Rob Page (6.2m) and Vinay Kumar (4.5m) – 62 points.

In Fridays scouting report I mentioned the importance of getting the captains pick spot on as it can make such a difference. It appears that Dan Copp (4.6m) was listening as he was the only one to select Daryl for the skipper’s role. Takes a skip to know a skip!! Dan scored an incredible 703 points when the weekly average was just 353.

Harry Robinson’s (4.6m) two-week stint at the top of the fantasy league came to an end as he dropped into second place being replaced by Adam Knight (6.6m) who goes clear by 33 points.

One point to note is that the league number will shortly be reduced to 31, with one manager dropping out not knowing that the team he selected would be placed in a competition. Prize money will remain unchanged.

All four teams are back in action this weekend as the timed games take over, so will this affect your thinking. Do you bring more bowlers in as they can bowl more overs or are you thinking a good middle order batsman will get you more points this weekend. And of course, don’t forget that captain pick.

Team news will be published as always at 11am on Friday but be prepared as a number of players are unavailable this week. Get your managers hats on and check back on Friday.
