Match report A trip to Old Southendians & Southchurch CC saw Stanford show some real class. Captain Matt Hasler opened the bowling and very quickly put Stanford on a high. Within the first 10 overs Stanford had Old Southendians 29 for 5 with 4 wickets for Matt and 1 run out by Joe Brunton. This pressure sadly couldn’t be sustained as a young Old Southendian batsman came in and hit 66 supported very well by his teammates. Stanford did however push on to bowl Old Southendians out for 138 with final figures of 67-7 for Matt and a very welcome 15-2 from Colin Easter at the end.

Stanford then came out to bat and the frailties and strength, or lack of, within the batting line up showed as the 5th XI were bowled out for just 66. Only 2 players made double figures, Matt Hasler with 22 and David Clayton with 12.
