Match report Stanford narrowly failed to force a win against Chingford and had to settle for 12 points from their opening fixture of the season. Having lost the toss and been asked to bat first under dark skies, Stanford were happy with their total of 217 for 7. The score was based around fifty for Rob Pearn, with Geoff Lake and Jack Carter providing useful support with 39 and 32 respectively. Chingford started positively in their chase against some wayward bowling and had reached 70 for 3 off their first 20 overs. The introduction of veteran Noj Fuller changed the game however, with his ability to attack the stumps returning him the excellent figures of 6 for 36 off 14 straight overs and decimating the Chingford middle order. Unfortunately Stanford could not find the last wicket required to get the 25 points that Noj's bowling display deserved.
