Event 1 -Kit night

Details - We will be holding a Kit Night down the Clubhouse for people to view, try on and order the new Willowstix Kit for the new Season.
Comments – Thanks to everyone who turned up to the Kit Night. I’m sure everyone will agree that Martin has done really well for arranging a deal with Willowstix, as the playing kit and equipment are of very high quality and its great to see a large amount of SLHCC players wearing the new kit!

Event 2 - Quiz Night
Date - Friday 22nd April 2011
Time - 7:00pm

Details - The second event for SLHCC 2011 season following on from the Kit Night will be a Pre Season Cricket Quiz.
This will be a great way for everyone who is involved with SLHCC to get together before the first game of the season for a 100% cricket themed quiz. There will be 10 rounds of questions ranging from the Ashes to the Mashes!!! There will be a half time interval where snacks will be provided and at the end, prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. There will be a raffle to win some great prizes also.
Comments – The Pre Season Quiz night was a great success. A BIG thank you to everyone who turned up and took part and also thanks to Colin, Gill and Dawn who helped out during the night. Congratulations to Ross Poulton’s team ‘Such an Ugly Baby’ who were the winners on the night!

Event 3 - Curry-Oke
Date - Saturday 21st May 2011

Details - The 3rd event for 2011 is a Curry-Oke where after the league matches on Saturday, there will be plenty of curry, plenty of beer and a bit of singing too!!
Comments – A BIG Thank You to everyone who attended the Curry-oke on Saturday. The evening was a great success with plenty of curry, singing and drinking taking place!!

Event 5 - Race Night

Details - The 5th Event for SLHCC is the eagerly anticipated Race Night. Please come along for a great night of friendly betting and plenty of drinking!!! Horses and Race Sponsors have all been sold so now its just left to everyone to turn up and have a little flutter!!
Comments – It was great to see so many people at the SLHCC Race night. Everyone seemed to have a great time with plenty of betting, cheering and drinking taking place. We raised an excellent amount of money for the club so a big thank you to everyone who turned up AND all horse owners and race sponsors.

Event 6 - 70's & 80's Disco

Details - Event number 6 for 2011 is the 70’s and 80’s disco so go grab your flares and try and make the effort in dressing up in a 70’s/80’s theme so we can all enjoy a good old boogie.
There will be a raffle and food and plenty of groovy music to have a dance too.
Comments - Thanks to everyone who turned up for the 70's and 80's Disco with lots of people in some great fancy dress. From Rambo to Michael Jackson, the night was certainly a 'Thriller' !!!

Event 7 - Beach Party

Details - Event number 7 for the year is the SLHCC Beach Party! Vodka Jelly Shots, Ice Cream, Beer Pong are just a few of the things that you can look forward to so go grab your towel and speedo's and turn up for what is well expected to be, one of the events of the year!!!
Comments - The Beach Party 2011 was definately one of the events of the year!! With Beer Downing, Stumps, Beer Pong and Flip Cup as well as a themed raffle, hot dogs and some live music, everyone who attended had a fantastic time so a big thank you to everyone who made the effort. Also, a big Thank You goes to all of the social committee who put in alot of hard work to make the event such a success. Lets keep the success going for the social events throughout the year!!!

Event 8 - Poker Night
Date - Friday 12th August 2011

Details - We are having a no limit texas holden poker tounament. The entry fee is £20 with half the money going to the cricket club and the other half split between the winners. In order to prepare for the night we need to know how many people are going to play beforehand, so there will be a list in the club from the weekend. If you are unable to get to the club just inbox me if you are gonna come.
Comments - Thank you to everyone who turned up and took part in the Poker Night. Congratulations to Neil Fuller who was the eventual winner on the night

Event 9 - Presidents Day (SLHCC v Essex Club & Ground)

Comments - Unfortunately, due to adverse weather conditions, the annual Presidents Day match against Essex Club & Ground was cancelled but a massive thanks goes out Georgie, Adrian, John, Rob, Julie and all the other helpers on the day for putting on a fantastic meal and day that all involved enjoyed greatly

Event 10 - Super Sixes

Details - The Annual Super Sixes Tournament is into its 4th year so come along for plenty of beer, bbq food and six hitting hopefully as the teams drawn at the player auction battle it out for the Duncan Page Super Six Trophy
Comments - This years Super Sixes was one of the best events so far. Thank you to everyone who helped on the day and for all who turned up. It will be hard to beat this next year!!

Event 11 - End Of Season Cocktail Party

- Come along to the End of Season Cocktail party to hopefully celebrate a double promotion, a relegation survival and the league season as a whole. We will have the cocktail legend Richie Hughes creating the cocktails so try and dress to impress and enjoy the last game of the season in style!!!
Comments - With the 1st XI consolidating their position in Division 2 and the 2nd XI gaining promotion to Division 2, the end of season cocktail party was full of celebration. Thank you to everyone who turned up and sampled the great cocktails from Richie Hughes. A great season celebrated in style!!

Event 12 - Presentation Night

Details - The Annual SLHCC Presentation Evening will take place on Friday 21st October from 7:30pm
I can now confirm that the entertainment will come from a very good 6 piece band called Glasshouse and costs will be as normal for this event.
Comments - The 2011 SLHCC Presentation evening was a great success. There was an excellent turn out of players, friends and family to watch everyone collect their awards. And with the drinks flowing, plenty of people got on the dance floor and enjoyed the music by Glasshouse!!

Event 13 - SLHCC Bingo Evening
Date - 11th November 2011

Details - For the last event for 2011, we have decided to host a Bingo evening at the clubhouse, so please make the effort to turn up, feel free to bring whoever may fancy a spot of Bingo and possible win some great prizes.
We are hoping to have 20 games with the final game a double jackpot!!! So the more people who turn up, the better the prizes. It will be £1 for 2 cards and people are able to have more than 2 cards per game. We will be serving some hot food with the lovely Georgie, Gill and Julie waiting tables
There will also be a raffle for a selection of prizes so lets make the last event for SHLCC for 2011 a great one
Comments - The BINGO night was an excellent way to sign off 2011 in style as the drinks were flowing, scampi was being eaten and prizes were being won!! Thank you to everyone who made the effort to turn up and take part as it certainly seemed like everyone had a great night.
Well done to all the winners especially Noj who picked up the £50 jackpot on the last game.... Quuuuack
