It may have been a bad day at the office for our teams on Saturday but as the old saying goes it’s a marathon not a snickers (IYKYK). There will be better weeks ahead for our teams and also our players so keep the faith.
Harry Robinson was narrowly pipped at the post in last season’s competition, so he is determined to go one better this year – I sense a few texts to the organisers checking on his weekly points total every week. Anyhow, he’s off to a flyer this year selecting six “Team of the Weeker’s” (ToW) in his side including that of brother Freddie Robinson who he made captain for double points. Freddie was the top points scorer with 166 following his magnificent 61 for the 3XI.
Michael Edwards is hot on Harry’s tail, and they are only separated by three points, which is just a long hit to the boundary and some good running between the wickets.
Dan Copp is a further four points behind and he had an incredible seven ToW in his side, the best of the week. Dan knows his cricketers.
A massive “Well Played” to everyone that made it into that Team of the Week. Keep up those performances and the results will come.
There is still a long way to go and lots of points to play for so stick with it especially as we now have cash prizes for the Managers who score the most points each month.
