With selection a little bit challenging it was sadly reflected in a disappointing weekend for the club as all teams failed to register a win. The skippers will be hoping for an upturn in fortunes and will be looking for a bounce back as we head into July fixtures and the halfway mark this week.
Still, amongst the gloom of the results, there were some players that stood out. The 1XI saw both Adam Knight (6.7m) and Ralf Fernando (7.4m) taking 4 wickets each to register 82 and 80 points respectively.
The 2XI were up against the league leaders in Old Southendian and Southchurch (yes, I know 2 teams, right!) Daryl Woodford’s (6.9m) 3 wickets earned himself 56 points whilst Scott Poskitt (4.1m) scored 52 points and Rohit Duhan (7.5m) 45 points.
Both the 3XI and 4XI batted first in their respective games but were unable to defend their scores. Ash Downes (3.9m) with 69 points was the highest earner in the 3’s and Dan Copp (4.6m) with 59* and 119 points was the top scorer in the club.
The battle for Fantasy Manager of the Year is hotting up, but its going to take a lot to overtake the leader Harry Robinson (4.5m) although his lead was cut by 18 points from last week, so maybe he is being reeled in. Harry is setting the standards as he remains top for the third week running.
Dan Copp was the weekly manager winner scoring 591 points which was mainly down to him getting the captains pick spot on by selecting none other than himself for double points. Some may classify it as insider trading but really, its smartly played.
That’s it for now, teams are out at 11am on Friday, hopefully I’ll see you then.
