So, after 18 weeks, 16 if you take out the two rained off days, the last ball has been bowled, the final boundary has been struck, the last catch caught and dropped and the final Mankad has been and gone. The points have been collated, updated, recounted and adjusted. Your Fantasy League Manager of the Season 2024 is……(drumroll please…)….
Adam Knight
Congratulations go to him as he regained the top spot on the very last day with an incredible 8,286. Commiserations to Harry Robinson with 8,198, who led for so long and looked odds on just a few weeks ago but a magnificent late burst from Adam saw it home. It all came down to the captains pick on the last day in the end. Adam went for Adam Pickett who went on to score 90 for 150 points doubling up for 300. Harry tried the reverse psychology, Heimlich manoeuvre, handbrake turn strategy actually captaining Adam Knight who if he had scored another 16 runs would have handed over the Manager award to Harry himself. I’m sure nothing underhand went on there, honest guv.
It’s been a great season for the club with the 1XI securing promotion and it’s been a great fantasy league competition, that has bought some much needed funds into the club. The prizes are as follows:
1st – Adam Knight - £100
2nd – Harry Robinson - £40
3rd – Daryl Woodford - £20
It would be great if we could get a few more players involved next season so that the pots could be bigger and maybe the Manager of the week/month could become a cash reward.
I hope you have enjoyed the weekly updates and scout reports, and it kept a little bit of interest going throughout the season. Thanks to Thomas for ensuring teams were posted at 11am every week giving you all 24 hours to sort your teams.
A few facts, figures and stats for you.
- Harry led the table for 14 of the 18 weeks
- Adam led in week 5 and then more importantly week 18
- Best weekly score was 944 by Jamie Gray in week 11
- 4 players won the Manager of the week award twice – Harry, Duncan, Joe Robertson and Dan Copp.
- Manger of the week once winners were Adam, Jack Carter, Matt Higgins, Jamie Gray, Andrew Love, Jack Scutt, Adrian Page and the final week winner was Darren Evans.
- Harry won the May and June Manager of the month, Higgo won July and Adam took August.
