SLHCC Tour 2013
goes to
'NORWICH'
The 2013 Tour to Norwich came and went in a blink but was a cracking week full of beer, food, clubbing and Cricket.
In game 1, the SLHCC XI beat Norwich CC when we finally found the correct ground! Lee Knight scoring a great 94 helping Stanford posting 260 for 9. In response, Norwich came close but couldnt get the final few runs as they finished on 245 for 8 with Kevin Smith, Gary Sanderson and Sean Barker picking up 2 wickets each.
Game 2 was against South Walsham CC and captain for the day Mash Page picked to bat first. Plenty of people made starts ( a 50 run opening stand by Cultured pair Gary and Daryl Woodford set a good tone!) but it was left to tail ender Roy Barrett (formally known as Ross Poulton) to hit a quick fire 60 to set a gorgeous 210 for 9. As the weather started getting cold, so did the bowling and fielding as nobody had an answer to Scales (105) and Denton (64*) as the hosts reached their target with 6 wickets remaining.
All the lads that came on tour had a great time taking advantage of the weatherspoons that was close by!!
