SRGUG Treasurer Needed

Dear Club member,

We write with some important news and with an urgent request for your help.

John Hicks will be standing down as treasurer of the SRGUG on 31st October. He has fulfilled this role since the idea of a multi-sport user group, with a shared facility at the Rec, came into about almost 20 years ago. Very few of us appreciate the breadth and depth, the sweat and the tears involved in this position. Every member of the clubs using the Rec owes John an immense debt of gratitude for his years of voluntary service. On behalf of us all, thank you, John.

And now we are asking for your help:

Is there among us (or within our circle of friends) someone with the skills, integrity and availability to take up the reins from John? Until October 31st, John is more than willing to explain the tasks and responsibilities involved, and to assist in a successful handover process.

Thanks to John’s hard work during lockdown in obtaining extra funding, the SRGUG is currently in a stable financial position.

PS Just to clarify, this does not affect John’s role as treasurer of the cricket club and he will remain in that post, if elected, after our next AGM.
